"Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men" - Colossians 3:23
That is the motto of Middleborne Arms. Well, that and "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women."
We're a small family business consisting of me, my wife, and our five wonderful kids, from southwestern Missouri.
Middleborne Arms started from a desire to make swords for my own kids, then was realized after a few minor life changes (loss of a job, lack of success at a new job, and a brand new beautiful baby). In desperation, I advertised my paltry sword making abilities to the internet masses. The response convinced me to quit my failing day job and commit fully to making the best wooden swords (and other wooden weapons) I could for children, adults, adults who act like children, and the occasional Mexican space alien who wants high quality wooden replicas of historical, fantasy, or sci-fi weapons.
I make every blade from hickory, a dense, hard wood that mimics steel in its ability to flex while staying true. Guards and other stuff are made up of locally-sourced black walnut, spalted maple, and sometimes mystery wood. I also have easy access to nearly every imaginable exotic wood for custom orders.
